Artist Statement
My work exists in the space between intention and surrender.
As an acrylic pouring artist, I collaborate with movement, gravity, and time. I guide the paint, but I do not control it. Each piece begins as a conversation—between color and emotion, between what I plan and what the moment reveals.
Years spent managing brand color with precision trained my eye to see nuance. Returning to art taught me to feel it.
In my studio, I work with fluidity—allowing color to stretch, merge, and settle into its own rhythm. The process is immersive and meditative, a practice in releasing the need to dictate an outcome. I am drawn to how paint behaves when it is encouraged rather than controlled, and to the unexpected beauty that emerges when materials are allowed to speak for themselves.
My work is inspired by the landscapes of emotion—joy, tension, rest, expansion, and the quiet spaces in between. Each piece reflects a balance of structure and spontaneity, shaped equally by intention and chance.
My Story.
I am a self-taught acrylic pouring artist based in Southern Oregon.
Creativity has always been part of my life. Raised among generations of imaginative, hands-on women, I was encouraged early on to explore color and create freely—sometimes even beyond the page. My mother was not always thrilled with the “artwork” that made its way onto the hallway walls.
My professional path led me into the corporate world, where I spent years working as a marketing print and project manager. There, I developed a sharp eye for color, detail, branding, and consistency. While that environment emphasized structure and precision, my creative instincts never strayed far.
About eight years ago, I began experimenting with acrylic pouring, initially applying my work to everyday objects like furniture and switch plates. What started as a simple exploration quickly grew into a deeper artistic practice. I set up a small studio in my backyard, and something clicked.
After more than 30 years in a structured corporate environment, I shifted my focus toward creating art that embraces movement, texture, and emotion. My process is rooted in experimentation and discovery, guided by a love of color and the unpredictability of the medium.
My work reflects a balance between control and release—a kind of controlled chaos—where each piece evolves through both intention and chance. Every piece is one of a kind, impossible to replicate, and carries a piece of me within it.
